GENTE’s technology partners lead the consortium towards to possible and practical, making ideas a reality. The GENTE project enables disparate technologies and technology partners to come together to create innovative and coherent solutions for LECs.
ES Systems AB, part of ES Energy Save Holding AB (publ), is an innovative Swedish energy technology company that, through cost-effective and smart air/water heat pump systems, contributes to sustainable energy conversion in Europe. The company has been supplying heat pumps to the European market since 2009 and has been listed on the Spotlight Stock Market since 2020.
ES Systems AB develops and offers energy and cost-saving energy solutions for the indoor climate and industrial processes. We industrialize the installation industry and digitize the system design. We supply renewable energy through permanent, temporary, and mobile heat pump systems and provide the market with environmentally smart and sustainably flexible products for maximum energy savings for homes, commercial properties and construction site heating and drying demands. In addition, we are adding a new way for the real estate industry to manage and capitalize on a well-proven technology, which provides increased property values and a greener profile.
Heat pump technology is unique in its compatibility with other energy machines and a variety of energy media flows. Energy Save develops systems for integration into the future energy eco system. One of our innovations is prefabricated energy stations which are plug-and-play modular systems, tailored and ready to be installed in or adjacent to the building. Thanks to prepared and faster installations as well as shorter lead times, reduced investment costs follow. It is faster and easier to get started simply. We contribute to:
Within GENTE, Energy Save will supply know-how and products within heat pump and hybrid energy systems building.
Air to water heat pump systems together with other energy generation, transformation or transition equipment will be used in GENTE. Furthermore, there will energy storage and control/communication systems integrated into the pilot.
The heat pump systems and digitization of control systems enables intelligent and distributed heating solutions by communication with parallel and superior energy systems thus achieving flexibility and balancing services.

We are a research and innovation company passionate about making the world a better place. We say yes to opportunity, strive to do right as an employer for our staff and their families, and we seek to develop, accelerate and implement solutions to societal challenges. Half of our activities are in Research and Innovation – the realization of new knowledge, products and services typically in the framework of collaborative European research. The other half or our activities focus on the commercialization, early adoption and scaling of new products and services that disrupt markets, solve problems and make our clients more competitive. We operate most in the sustainability sector where we are deeply engaged in energy, buildings, construction and the smart grid. We proudly work in the Green Building Council and are distributors on our territories for some of Europe’s most exciting tools and technologies.
R2M contributes with development of AI algorithms for energy optimization in LECs, individual controls based on reduced models, digital twins for buildings and energy models to support predictive controls; definition of business models, exploitation and scalability for the market uptake of the GENTE solutions.

The Collaborative Energy Living Lab (CELL) drives innovation for cyber-physical energy systems in Switzerland. It provides a testbed for digital energy applications and power systems integration. In CELL, we develop and validate modern solutions for clean energy systems.
CELL uses the Campus Ecosystem including an innovation park and other existing communities, such as Luzern Sued (Nidfeld and Mattenhof) and Am Aawasser, as real-life living labs for developing, testing and showcasing advanced technology and systems in GENTE.
CELL combines traditional power systems and microgrids competence with applied research in information and communication technology. CELL has grown out of the successful Living Lab ‘iHomeLab’ on the Hochschule Luzern (HSLU) campus. The CELL concept is a modular, scalable living lab that combines facilities, expertise and partnerships across the university footprint.
